Calcite is made of calcium carbonate, it's a fairly common mineral that is a component of limestone and has a hardness score of 3 on the Moh's scale of mineral hardness. Calcite has more uses than almost any other mineral! It is used as a construction material (limestone and marble), pigment, agricultural soil treatment, pharmaceutical, acid neutralizer in the chemical industry and more.
